TITLE: TREAT ACT GAINS MOMENTUM

Posted over 8 years ago by Amy O'Meara

ANNOUNCEMENT: Senator Leahy has now co-sponsored the senate version of a bill that removes the restriction for NPs and PAs to treat their patients who suffer from opioid addiction with suboxone. PLEASE send an email thanking the senator for his support of ending the long waitlists and the need to send our patients to other communities for treatment. This means that all 3 of our reps have weighed in that NPs are a critical component of the health care of our patients. Click on the link below to take you to a letter from the AANP advocacy center which thanks all 3 of our representatives. If that does not work for you then paste this link to the advocacy center into your browser. https://www.aanp.org/legislation-regulation/advocacy-center.

click on the "support NPs ability......" link which will bring you directly to the letters thanking all 3 reps for their support. If any of you have NP friends in other states, please ask them to write a letter to the congress reps and senator reps, especially if they are republicans. Thanks
