Nurse practitioners are now allowed to certify patients for medical marijuana in New York. Thursday, the Department of Health also announced that the medical marijuana program will cover chronic pain as a qualifying condition. State health officials continue to expand the program in an effort to cater to more patients in need and provide easier access. Doctor Stephen Ferrara, executive director of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State, discusses this update.
