The University of Vermont, Department of Nursing is applying for HRSA 17-070, the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program. If we are successful, we will relaunch the Post Graduate DNP preparation for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) this fall. The program would be open to NPs with Masters or Doctoral degrees who have completed an NP program containing Pharmacology, Pathophysiology and Advanced Physical Assessment.

The PMHNP program is designed for distance delivery with several on site experiences. NPs with a desire for this DNP preparation must be willing to serve rural and underserved areas with the credential they earn. That service could be in primary care or in a facility devoted to mental health or substance use disorder.

Full time stipends of up to $28,000 per year would be available. Stipends can be used for tuition or other expenses during the program. Part time stipends would be at 50% of the $28,000 or $14,000 per year. The program will be part time. We would encourage you to seek additional employer support for work release or tuition.

Additionally, if you are a psychiatric NP and would be willing to provide clinical mentorship we would be most grateful if you would contact us @ beatriz.cobeo.1@med.uvm.edu. We are planning a conference call with additional information on May 31 at 12noon. The call in number is:
