Help the VNPA determine our policy priorities

Posted over 5 years ago by Martha Whitfield

Greetings from the policy committee of the VNPA!

We wanted to take a moment to update you on some policy news and also to get your input on where you think our policy efforts should be directed in this coming session.

Vermont APRN Collaborative

We recently met with representatives from other APRN groups in Vermont, and are excited to announce the formation of a coalition of APRNs in the state. The Vermont APRN Collaborative will allow NPs, CRNAs, and CNMs to collaborate on issues that affect APRN practice and patient access to care.  We are already planning a breakfast with legislators in the Statehouse - more details to follow.

Help us determine the VNPAs legislative priorities for the 2019 session

As you may know, during the last legislative session the VNPA focused time and energy on the Office of Professional Regulation (OPR) bill. An amendment to this bill would have significantly limited NPs ability to practice independently. We are hopeful that this issue will not come up again next year, meaning that we can focus on some additional issues in the next legislative session.  Please take a minute or two to complete a very short 3 question survey - let us know what you would like to see us work on at the state level this coming year.
