This bill impacts over 3 million federal employees and more who cannot see a NP for their WC care!

AANP MESSAGE SENT:  As you may know, the House of Representatives' Committee on Education and Labor recently passed out of Committee H.R. 6087, the Improving Access to Workers' Compensation for Injured Federal Workers Act.  This bill would authorize NPs and PAs to certify disabilities and oversee treatment for injured federal workers. Currently, only a physician can provide this care to federal employees under the Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA). As we work to move this bill forward in the House of Representatives, we are requesting that you share instances of times when FECA has been a barrier for you and your patients in receiving timely access to care for a federal workplace injury or illness. We are specifically requesting stories related to federal workers' compensation claims for federal employees (including postal workers).  Please email your stories by Friday, June 3rd ( or ASAP)  to governmentaffairs@aanp.org.
Thanks
