Posted almost 2 years ago by Eileen Murphy
The Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurse Association (GAPNA) will be holding its Annual Conference in late September in New Orleans.
The special pre-conference, "Essentials for APRNs in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care" is an all-day workshop on Sept. 27 (7 contact hours). We will explore the culture, regulations, legal concerns, documentation and billing in PAC/LTC environments. Participants will be briefed on clinical updates for Community Acquired Pneumonia (CAP), COPD, Type 2 DM, VTE prophylaxis and prevention of stress ulcers. Geriatric syndromes with polypharmacy, falls, functional assessment (to name a few) will also be discussed.
The Annual conference is September 28 to 30 and the PAC/LTC pre-conference workshop is September 27. Although many of the conference sessions are available virtually, this preconference workshop is "in person-only."
