Voting - conference and NP week updates

Posted 28 days ago by Michelle Wade

Late October and November are busy months  Election's, Nurse Practitioner Week, Conference and lots more!

Please get out and VOTE! as a Vermont voter you already received a ballot in the mail - if you have not already mailed it back you now need to hand deliver it to your polling location.

For all the AANP members now is the time to vote for the AANPCB Commissioners

2025 AANPCB Commissioner Elections Began Sunday
Elections for two family NPs to serve as commissioners on the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) will open this Sunday, Oct. 20, and close at midnight (PT) on Nov. 2, 2024. The Board of Commissioners (BOC) governs the AANPCB organization and its certification programs. Elected commissioners will begin their duties on Jan. 1, 2025, for three-year terms.

All AANPCB-certified NPs are encouraged to vote for these very important positions. The AANPCB Commissioner Election is held every October through a secure electronic voting format. When voting opens, certificants will receive an email from aanpcbelection@prestigetech.com with instructions and a link to their secure ballot.

Voters participating in this election will be entered into a random drawing in which ten winning certificants may choose either a certification renewal* ($195 value) or a $200 Amazon gift card.

For more information about AANPCB and the 2025 commissioner elections, visit aanpcert.org.

*Certificants must meet renewal requirements.

This is the time to use the links below to advocate for APRNs to the members of congress for the bills we need passed to allow unrestricted practice

AANP Federal Advocacy: Your Voice Makes a Difference!
It is critical to continue communicating the importance of eliminating all federal barriers to practice for NPs. The AANP Advocacy Center provides an excellent opportunity for you to educate and inform your elected officials of the high-quality health care delivered by NPs across the country.

With just a few clicks, your voice can make a difference when you urge your Members of Congress to:

NP Week is approaching and that means it is CONFERENCE time! If you have not registered time is getting short and we all want to network together! Registration Link

This year at the conference we are doing a donation station for "Business Clothes" (defined as what you wear to work as an NP everyday)  in a Dress for Success mission to donate Business and Formal attire to  Amy's Armoire a non profit organization in central Vermont that helps and support Adoptive, Foster and Kin children and families. There will be a collection table in the vendor area and we are hoping to have tons of clothes to donate to this worthy cause to support the Annex. Additionally please spread the work for people in need. Foster, foster-adoptive parents, and families raising kin may qualify for FREE or discounted clothing from the main store or donation Center and supplies such as toys, books, furniture, and baby equipment are always free to those families day or night if needed. We currently have storage units in 3 districts for greater accessibility. - So purge your closets and bring that with you to the conference!

This is a reminder that NP week is November 10-16th if you need any graphics for NP week please reach out and I will share!

I look forward to seeing everyone soon at the conference
