Home Health Bill Introduced HR 2504

Posted almost 11 years ago by Deborah Wachtel

Home Health Bill Introduced in the House on June 26, Representatives Greg Walden (R-OR) and Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) were joined by 21 bi-partisan original co-sponsors in the introduction of the “Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act of 2013” (H.R. 2504). This legislation, if passed, would enable nurse practitioners and other providers to certify the eligibility of Medicare patients for home health services.  Independent experts have estimated that the bill would save Medicare $310 million over five years by eliminating delays in treatment and streamlining the process by which patients receive necessary home health services.

I encourage you to contact Congressman Peter Welch now and urge him to co-sponsor H.R. 2504. You can send a letter from the AANP advocacy center by using this link here or google AANP and click on the advocacy center tab.
