NEW Emergency Nurse Practitioner Certification

For the past year, I have had the opportunity to be part of the ANCC Credentialing Committee whose task was to devise and define a portfolio application for the new Emergency Nurse Practitioner Certification....we who have worked in the ED in the past have not had a certification that exemplifies our particular expertise in emergency NP practice. As part of a 10 member panel of ED NPs from around the country, we defined the criteria needed for this certification. I am happy to announce that the ANCC has just opened the application process. I encourage all who qualify to apply!! Strength in numbers!
